Gallery: Maids Causeway Crossing at Fair Street
Could this become the first Crossing in Cambridge with changed preference. In other words it should usually show green light for Midsummer Common to Fair Street. It only turns green for Maids Causeway when it detects someone approaching on the road. So basically the set-up sort off turned by 90 degrees...
I am not aware of any design guides that would support this, however this should not stop us from trying. Signalling a red traffic light on Maids Causeway may reduce speed and even get support from the local residents, if they understand it does not necessarily cause cars to stop there at all times (as the lights would detect traffic approaching on Maids Causeway).
